Among all the games available at online casinos, blackjack holds a special place. It's not purely a game of chance — it's the only major casino game where a player's decisions genuinely affect the outcome of every hand. With the right strategy, the house edge can be reduced to as low as 0.5%, making it one of the best-value bets you can place at 17winrm.
In Malaysia, blackjack is steadily winning over online casino fans, especially since platforms like 17winrm makes it easy to access high-quality live tables with professional dealers. No need to drive up to Genting Highlands or travel abroad — the authentic green-felt experience is now available right on your smartphone or laptop, whenever you want it.
What sets blackjack apart from other casino games like slots or roulette is the significant skill element involved. Every decision you make — whether to hit, stand, double down, or split — carries a calculable mathematical impact. Players who master basic blackjack strategy can drastically cut their long-term losses compared to playing on instinct alone.
Another reason blackjack is so popular among experienced players is its transparency. Unlike slots, which rely on a Random Number Generator (RNG) hidden from view, in blackjack you can see every card dealt, calculate the odds, and make decisions based on available information. This gives you a sense of control that no other casino game can offer.
17winrm understood this need and now offer one of the most comprehensive live blackjack collections in Malaysia. From Classic Blackjack tables suited for beginners, to Infinite Blackjack that accommodates hundreds of simultaneous players, and Blackjack VIP for those seeking a premium experience with higher betting limits — everything is available under one easy-to-use platform.
Dealers at the table 17winrm are trained professionals operating from accredited recording studios. They handle every hand with precision and efficiency, and are able to communicate in multiple languages including Malay and English. This creates a comfortable environment for Malaysian players who may be trying live blackjack online for the very first time.
Each variant comes with slightly different rules and feel — pick the one that suits your playing style best.

Classic rules enhanced with exciting side bet options such as Perfect Pairs and 21+3. Side bets offer high payouts of up to 100:1 for certain combinations.
A unique variant where doubling down and splitting on certain hands is free — 17winrm covers the cost of the additional bet. Standard 3:2 payout still applies for blackjack.
Understand the payout structure before you start playing — it's the foundation of any solid strategy.
| Hand Outcome | Description | Payout | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blackjack (Natural) | Ace + a 10-value card as your first two cards | 3:2 | Best payout in the game |
| Regular Win | Hand value closer to 21 than the dealer's | 1:1 | Most common |
| Push (Tie) | Hand value ties with the dealer | Push | Original bet returned |
| Insurance | Side bet when the dealer shows an Ace | 2:1 | If the dealer gets blackjack |
| Double Down Win | Double your bet after the first two cards | 2:1 Net | Only one additional card is dealt |
| Perfect Pairs (Side Bet) | First two cards are a suited pair | 25:1 | Available in Power Series |
| 21+3 Suited Trips (Side Bet) | First three cards — three cards of the same suit and colour | 100:1 | Highest side bet payout |
Blackjack is easier to learn than you might think. Within 5 minutes, you can be ready to sit down at a table.
Before cards are dealt, place your bet in the betting area on the table. The minimum is RM 5 for Classic tables at 17winrm.
The dealer will deal two cards to you (both face up) and two cards to themselves (one face up, one face down).
Numbered cards are worth their face value. J, Q, and K are each worth 10. An Ace can be worth either 1 or 11, depending on your hand.
Hit – request one more card. Stand – stop with your current hand. Double Down – double your bet and receive one card. Split – split the pair into two separate hands.
Once all players have finished, the dealer reveals the face-down card and must hit until reaching a value of 17 or higher, then stand. The dealer must stand on Soft 17.
If your hand is closer to 21 than the dealer's without exceeding 21 (busting), you win. Blackjack pays 3:2, and winnings are credited instantly to your 17winrm account.
Players using basic strategy can reduce the house edge to as low as 0.5%.
One of the things that makes blackjack compelling for serious players is the existence of "basic strategy" — a mathematically complete set of decisions worked out by statisticians to determine the optimal play for every possible hand combination. By following basic strategy, the house edge can be reduced to around 0.5%, bringing the game's effective RTP up to 99.5%.
That's a remarkable figure in the casino industry. For context, slots typically return between 94% and 97% RTP, while roulette sits at 97.3%. Blackjack played with the right strategy is therefore the best choice from a mathematical value standpoint if you want to stretch your playtime on the same budget.
At 17winrm, you are permitted to use a basic strategy reference card while playing — there is no restriction on consulting a strategy guide openly. This is standard practice in online live casinos, as using basic strategy only reduces the casino's edge to a level that remains viable for the platform, while delivering greater value to the player.
Here is a quick reference guide for the most important blackjack decisions based on your hand value versus the dealer's upcard:
| Your Hand | Dealer 2–6 | Dealer 7–9 | Dealer 10/J/Q/K | Dealer Ace |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 8 or fewer | Hit | Hit | Hit | Hit |
| 9 | Double | Hit | Hit | Hit |
| 10 | Double | Double | Hit | Hit |
| 11 | Double | Double | Double | Hit |
| 12–16 | Stand | Hit | Hit | Hit |
| 17+ | Stand | Stand | Stand | Stand |
| Pair of Aces | Split | Split | Split | Split |
| Pair of 8s | Split | Split | Split | Split |

Use these tips to get the most out of your playing experience and value.
Don't rely on gut feeling alone. Basic strategy has been mathematically proven to deliver the best long-term results. At 17winrm, you may consult a strategy chart while playing without any restrictions.
Insurance looks tempting when the dealer shows an Ace, but statistically it favors the house in the long run. Unless you're an experienced card counter, it's best to consistently avoid the insurance bet.
All blackjack tables at 17winrm pays 3:2 on a natural blackjack. Avoid tables that pay only 6:5 — that difference raises the house edge by 1.4%, which adds up significantly over time.
Doubling down is one of the most powerful moves in blackjack. When you hold 11 and the dealer shows a low card (2–10), doubling down is mathematically the most profitable play. Don't hesitate to use it when the situation calls for it.
Set a session limit before you sit down at the table. Never bet more than 5% of your total balance on a single hand. This gives your strategy enough room to play out over the long run without burning through your bankroll too quickly.
The Free Bet Blackjack variant at 17winrm offers free double down and split on certain hands. This delivers real added value — you can play a more aggressive strategy without putting up extra funds.
